Pipilotti Rist: 4th Floor to Mildness is an immersive audio-visual installation that guides audiences through stunning aquatic realms.

Our team worked closely with Atelier Rist and Portland Art Museum to fabricate, source, and install the custom curtains, beds, cushions, bedding covers, and sound baffling panels that fill this sprawling exhibition. Beginning just outside the exhibition, colorful drapes guide audiences into the space where they transform and flow from floor to ceiling and wall to wall, rippling seamlessly into its water-like environment. Collaborating with our sister company, Oregon Natural Fiber Mill, we filled the exhibition with raft-like beds, cushions, and created durable, long-lasting covers for them. We also produced the sound baffling panels that soften ambient sounds coming from outside the exhibition, maximizing the show’s listening experience. The fabricated elements were the magic touch, offering visitors a soft and inviting place to sink in and float comfortably through Pipilotti Rist’s dreamlike experience.

4th Floor to Mildness is on view now at the Portland Art Museum through January 2027
