Nova Jiang x ZGF
Public Art Sculpture
How do you make a sculpture float?
You call on the architectural giants at ZGF and the expert fabrication team at PGF, that’s how!
ZGF + PGF joined forces to fabricate sleek, luminous, airship-like sculptures for artist Nova Jiang. Commissioned by the Sound Transit Art Program, and now permanently installed to float above the Marymoor Village Station Garage in Redmond, Washington.
The concept called for sleek curves, sculptural engineering, and a textile skin that could stretch, flex, and softly radiate light from within. That’s where PGF came in. We engineered and patterned custom fire-retardant skins to wrap ZGF’s beautifully complex aluminum frames.
Translating Nova Jiang’s atmospheric vision was no small task, but we love a good fabrication puzzle!
